Recipe: Squashed fig, basil and Parma ham sandwich

Keys hung up, briefcase down. Jacket off, apron on.  With black stiletto’s on and a glass of wine in hand, I stand in my kitchen. I’m in the mood for a sandwich. There’s something about a sandwich that gets me going... maybe it’s trying to open your mouth wide enough to let something big fit into it.

Recipe adapted from Jamie Oliver (Jamie’s Dinners)

Ingredients

Bread

1 Fig

Fresh basil

Parma ham

Shaved Parmesan

Method

·         Top tip: The fig is one of the most sexual food items. Not only is it an aphrodisiac but it is said to capture the essence of the female form ... so when making this meal be sure to let the fig take centre stage, opening it up and showcasing it’s pink flesh. Not only will your man enjoy the fig in this meal, but with this aphrodisiac he’ll be enjoying some more fig later on.

1.        Lightly butter the bread, softly tickling the yielding flesh with the knife.

2.       Tear open a beautiful ripe, sticky fig – open it wide. Squash it into one side of the bread – use your fingers to massage the layers of tissue.

3.       Rip over some fresh basil, ripping hard.

4.       Lay over some Parma Ham and shaved Parmesan. Everything feels better in the mouth when shaved.

5.       Enjoy with an Italian beer.
